Mischief
Characters, critters and cartoons
July 13th - August 7th, 2011
Opening reception:  Sunday, July 17th, 2-6 pm

Dark characters, strange critters and comical situations come to the fore in this group show of work from 50 local artists.  Work includes everything from Lucha Libre paintings to finely-wrought drawings of armed animals, plus lots of work from gallery favorites:  new Hato woodcuts from Ayu Tomikawa, phobias from Brian Behnke, bone boxes from Maude Kirk, boxing bears from Chiami Sekine, cats and crows from Lindsey Kustusch and character studies by Chris Leib.  This year's show has a lot of animals, especially owls, as well as some terrific still life paintings of fanciful subjects.  3D-Edddy, Sofia Harrison, Richard Benbrook, Liz Mamorsky, Koji Nagao and Michael Frank are showing larger sculptures.  Other artists in the show include Sheri DeBow, Woody Miller, Michelle Waters, C3, Nobu Tanaka, C!nder, Johnny Botts, Murphy Adams, Sara Cohen, Zach Oldenkamp, Stephanie Langley, Barbara Wyeth, Florence Gray, Katie Gilmartin, Chris Grassano, Phyllis Rockne, Mia Christopher, Charlene Kelley, Leslie Morgan, Michael Foley, Teerawat Palanitisena, Mark Sweeney, Michael Chamberlain, John Hageman, Andrew Stattmiller, Christine Benjamin, Chad Frick, Linda Pedersen, Lacey Bryant, Chur Park, Maggie Yee, Sherwin Viray, Mike Borja, Patty Blau, Jack Stelnicki, Paul Maes, Michael Loomis, Xiau-Fong Wee, Tom Gibbons, Brandon Williams and Katie Bacigalupi.  We hope you enjoy this fun, summertime show as much as we do!
